I Fell In Love With castles From My Early Years
You’re an expert in traditional architechture, and specializing in castles.
In grade 5, so about 11 years of age, I found a picture book on
Japanese castles in a bookstore, and came to really appreciate
castles through that book. I still have the book, but looking at it
now, I realise it wasn’t all that great, there are many mistakes
written in it.(laughs)
Of all the castles, what is your favourite?
I like so many things about so many castles, it’s really difficult to choose, but the really splendid castles,
say,Edo, Nagoya and Osaka would be my favourites.
All are Tokugawa held castles,…
Yes, that’s right. I guess because theTokugawa were Shogun, they could afford to gather
the best engineers and build the biggest castles. They’re all excellent castles.
